LGD Gaming claim their spot in the MDL grand finals, edging out Newbee 2-1

The lower bracket finals in the Mars Dota 2 League ended with LGD Gaming claiming their spot inside the grand finals to face off against LGD. Forever Young once again.

The lower bracket final in the Mars Dota 2 League would see another China showdown as Newbee visited battle with LGD Gaming. The winning of the overall game would find themselves inside the grand finals of MDL, facing LGD. Forever Young, as the loser could be going home. With 3 teams remaining hailing coming from the mighty Chinese Dota region and all going to The International 2017 in just a couple of weeks, the competition could be interesting. After LGD lost over to their sister team yesterday, They Might be attempting to find an opportunity at redemption, while LFY were also the team who knocked Newbee straight into the lower bracket – so that they too could be looking to bring the grand finals by storm.

A very good begin to the overall game for Newbee would see them take a little lead inside the opening ten minutes, claiming a couple of kills and also the mid tier 1 tower during this time. However this advantage Didn‘t last long as LGD looked hungry to the win and also as twenty minutes passed, they begun to bring complete control of the overall game, utilising Wang 'AME-' Chunyu upon the Chaos Knight’s Phantasm ability to chop down Newbee’s defenses.

With just over twenty five minutes passed, LGD felt brave enough to reach high ground inside the bottom lane but were met having a stern defense from Newbee, who showed signs of actually finding their footing inside the game once again. But their defense, and base, Didn‘t last for much longer and within a couple of minutes, LGD returned to rip with the Dire line up and force the GG from Newbee, giving game 1 from the series to LGD.

A fast begin to the overall game saw Newbee grabbing an early first blood together with another kill a couple of seconds later too as they simply looked to tie in the series. Within a couple of minutes, Newbee had racked up a 8-1 lead as Zeng 'Faith' Hongda upon the Shadow Shaman was making fantastic rotations all around the map, not allowing LGD any breathing room. By seventeen minutes, Newbee were looking set to bring the overall game, with 3 tier 1 Radiant towers faraway from the map and an aegis in hand.

After twenty one minutes, Newbee moved their attack to high ground and dropped the highest lane barracks with no defense coming in coming from the Radiant. Newbee waited out subsequent aegis with that in hand, they looked to completely close out the overall game. But like the Dire team moved on your high ground bot lane, they had been met having a fantastic defense from LGD which resulted in 4 kills going with their favour.
Suddenly there was some life in LGD, albeit they had been losing barracks towards the “rat” strategy released of Chun 'SCCC' Song's Invoker, as they simply managed to locate kills continuously. But with forty five minutes passed, and mega creeps beating at their tier 4 towers, LGD looked very unlikely to succeed. With another aegis in hand, Newbee finally were able to close out the overall game and tie in the series at 1-1, taking us to some deciding game 3.

The deciding game from the series would see both teams having a relatively even start, by ten minutes, while Newbee held a 5-3 lead upon the scoreboard, there wasn‘t much else separating them. It took fifteen minutes for just about any major openings showing however when it came, it was eventually game changing - as Newbee went straight into the Roshan pit. It wound up being an entire disaster for Newbee as LGD contested and dropped the complete Dire team and claimed the aegis on their own. Suddenly LGD took complete control of the overall game as they simply found another 4 kills just a couple of minutes later and place Newbee on the rear foot.

After just over twenty one minutes, with some absolutely perfect plays from Chen 'Victoria' Guanhong upon the Earth Spirit and Newbee having simply no chance inside the game, they threw inside the towel, giving game 3 and also the series to LGD Gaming. LGD would now continue to face their sister squad again inside the best-of-five grand finals in the Mars Dota 2 League later today.
